Four years ago, at the age of 2 1/2, this sweetie pie came home to her forever family from China and took up residence in all of our hearts.
So technically she's not "our" Noelle, her parents are Jennifer and Joel, but as you can see from the photos below. She's pretty special to us. Family.
When Jen and Joel were given the referral for their daughter, they knew she would need immediate heart surgery to save her life. One month after coming home, she went in for open heart surgery.
It was a scary, hard time, but she recovered so quickly and with so much spunk, I think we all took for granted how fragile her little heart really was.
Last week, she had to undergo surgery again. What was supposed to be a simple procedure, turned into a much bigger ordeal. The doctors found that her little heart was more of a "ticking time bomb" than they originally thought and had to put in a stent right then and now she leaves tonight to fly back to Seattle Children's Hospital for a valve replacement surgery. She'll be in the hospital in Seattle for about 10 days after the surgery.
Please, please, please pray for Noelle. She is such a trooper, but she's been through so much in her life already. Please pray for her safety, future health, and for her emotions. All of this is so scary for a six-year-old. Please pray God will comfort her and her family in a way only He can.
