My Next Page

I can't help myself. Here's my next page:

My big accomplishment was learning how to make rounded corners. : ) When is my house ever going to get clean?

My New Hobby - As if I Needed One!!

Here it is!

My Very First Digital Scrapbook Page!

Photoshop Elements arrived in the mail tonight! And I just HAD to try it before bed. I REFUSE to look at the clock right now. And I'm NOT thinking about all of the other stuff I was SUPPOSED to be doing tonight. It was fun to stay up late and play.

There is going to be a learning curve to this way of scrapping, but (unfortunately) I'm hooked already.

Hmmm- As if homeschooling, housecleaning, parenting, writing, blogging, ministry, etc. weren't enough-

I guess I needed a new hobby! LOL. A girl's gotta have some fun, right?

This page involved lots of trial and error, free downloads and online tutorials, and sort of ended up this way on accident, but I'm happy with the result. I can't wait to learn some new techniques. (And I'm not sure if it will look good printed, we'll see)

I've been watching my sister-in-law share her pages on her blog and decided I had to give it a try. I've always loved scrapbooking, but I can't keep up with the mess and supplies and time commitment of the traditional paper albums. So Angie, it's all your fault!!

(Thanks!)

Just Like Me

How many hours did I spend as a little girl playing school with my dolls?

Oldest Princess is me all over again.

Playing school is much more sophisticated for today's modern girl. They have such cool things!

For Christmas, her Grandma and Grandpa always send her a gift card to Barnes and Noble, and this year she found the best thing in the world for her! (Thank you Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Joe!!!)

AN AMERICAN GIRL DOLL SCHOOL KIT!

What a lucky girl she is!

I cannot say how much I would have loved to own this kit when I was a girl.

(Who am I kidding... I want to sneak into her room and play with it right now)

Inside the kit was an alphabet strip for the wall:

A mini book just the right size for the doll to read for silent reading.

Flashcards:

And much more~ Hall passes, report cards, lesson plans, even school photos.

I think her students look smarter than ever, what do you think?

The Song I'm Singing Today

I saw this video on my Aunt Karen's blog and fell in love.

We own the "Planet Earth" videos and every time I watch them, I'm filled with worship. This song is beautiful, too.

Enjoy! (P.S. Watching it in full screen is the best)

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."
- Romans 1:20

"How can I say 'There is no God' when all around Creation calls?"

There are so many ways God calls us to Himself-

The awesome beauty of His creation is one.

Worshipping Him today!

A Party Fit for a Dog Lover

Last week, Oldest Princess turned 8-Years-Old!!!!

I'm so proud of my big girl.

How is it possible that my baby is eight? That sounds so old! I'm not going to let myself blink anymore. Every time I do, my babies get older.

Speaking of proud-

I'm also pretty proud of my dalmatian cake. : )

Every Once in Awhile Becky

The other night, King Charming looked up from his computer and said, "You are going to have to rename your blog "Every Once in Awhile Becky"

Boo Hoo. When did I go from blogging every day to fitting in a quickie post every few weeks?

Hmmm...maybe the day I started homeschooling. LOL

I really miss blogging more frequently. In fact, it is pretty sad, but I've been walking around composing blog posts in my head. I just never find the time to get them posted. I've had a running conversation going on with you all for months- you just didn't know it. : )

Homeschooling is going great, but I have a lot to learn about time management. I think I'm getting there and making positive steps. I'm hoping that equals more frequent blogging.

Stay tuned for many "catching up" posts to come this week!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! We woke up to snow on the ground (enough for the kids to sled) and the weather man says it will be shorts weather by tomorrow. Spring sure is unpredictable, but I love it. Sun, sun, please come to stay!

Be back soon!

Love,
