Our Miracle

I had an ultrasound this morning and it went very well. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for our miracle.

If you are unfamiliar with ultrasounds, this picture may be difficult to understand what you are looking at. The baby is laying on his/her tummy and the stripe you see down the middle is the spine. Arms and legs are tucked underneath the baby in this photo, but we did confirm that there are two legs, two arms, two hands and feet. Baby measured perfectly for 16 weeks.

I have another ultrasound schedule for April 15th, so it will be good to look at everything again when the baby is slightly bigger. It was difficult to get a great view and we were never able to see Baby's face.

We did, however, look between the legs and.....

Any guesses?

I can't help you with what you are seeing here. I'm still slightly confused myself. I would love to hear your opinion about whether or not this picture settles the Monster Truck vs. Cutie Pie debate. (See sidebar for explanation)

The ultrasound tech had a guess, but I'll wait to post what she thinks until I hear what you all think. Any of you ultrasound experts out there have an opinion? I've looked at this picture a million and one times, and I'm still not sure one way or the other.

I am just so grateful that we left the ultrasound room this far in my pregnancy with smiles on our faces and in our hearts, instead of leaving with broken hearts. Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of this little life.

YEA!!! I am so excited to see pictures of my niece/nephew. I wish I could give some insite on what I think it may be but even though I've seen what both look like, it's not so clear. I will be praying for heathly either way, but I'll make sure that it's a little heavy on the boy side :)

I've had one of each, so I've seen ultrasounds in both cases, but that doesn't make it easy--so much depends on the position of the baby. In the gender shot, it's a little harder for me to figure out what's what, but my first reaction was "boy." Can't wait to hear what the tech thought.

Thank you so much for calling us with an update today! :)
Big *HUGS* to you... I am so happy for you... can't say it enough.
I'm thinking those look like boy parts. That US does not look like little miss L's did. :)

Wow, Beck, so cool and so exciting. So many emotions. Since I never peek at the gender I have very little experience in that field. My first thought was boy, but then I started looking more and I don't know they say girls look so much like boys with the right view and that stripe down the middle. LOL Geesh, can't wait to see what the tech said! Love you and will keep praying for a healthy baby!
Love ya,
Katy

Happy Happy dance for you!!! What an amazing gift for you to experience a good ultrasound! I pray that they continue to bring you good news!

I'm not much help in the gender dept. either, but if I had to guess I'd say "Monster Truck"!!
