Blog Design

I am ashamed to admit it, but I have just spent the last 8 hours customizing my blog. If I close my eyes, all I can see is HTML code.

(Note: Thanks to my computer whiz brother, Ben, for widening my columns for me!)

I have much more I want to do, but I MUST MAKE MYSELF STOP!!!!! : )

For WFMW, I thought I'd share some of the websites that were a great help to me today. Before I do, I want to add a disclaimer so I don't scare away my family members that are considering blogging. Some of you have asked if blogging is hard to do, and the answer is, "It is only as difficult as you want to make it." : ) Blogger has great templates that are easy to use and you will never even need to know what HTML code is if you don't want to.

But if you find yourself bored with your current template and want to customize it a bit. Here are the links I found:

This one is a wealth of resources and tricks! Tips for New Bloggers

And this one helped me make my navigation bar: Real Life

This one was a great resource for choosing my colors: HTML Color Codes

Have fun making your blog your own!

BUT I need to add one more warning. If you click on the links above, hours will disappear, and your kitchen will end up looking like mine!

I can't believe I'm sharing that with the world! : )

To my fellow WFMW bloggers- Welcome! Thank you for visiting. Let me know you were here and feel free to look around.

Thanks for the links! My blog is beyond ugly--I've never enhanced it after choosing a boring Blogger template back in August.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am going to schedule a "I'm lost in blogland design day" just so I can totally mess with my blog! I also have a computer savvy brother who will more than likely recieve several calls on that day! LOL!
BTW - you are now bookmarked on my computer;).

Thanks so much. I have been wanting to custimize my blog for so long but never really had the time or patience to do all of the research. And my DH (who can do it) and I cannot find time for him to help me.

I did the same thing... maybe longer than 8 hours to get a customized header. It took forever even though I design websites at work... looks good.

Customizing can be SO addicting! Now that I know how, I'm always wanting to change something! Thanks for the mention, I'm glad your menu turned out! I'm about to start designing blogs so I can play with other people's blogs, and stop changing mine all the time! If anyone needs any help adding backgrounds or headers, and changing widths, feel free to ask!

That's my next project....creating a custom header. : )

Your blog looks fantastic, but now I'm going to be wasting hours customizing mine now. I've always wanted to have a little nav bar like that but didn't know how to do it.

Thanks for the tips.

Oh thankyou thankyou thankyou!

I've been itching to give my blog a makeover, but there are some key things I don't know how to do. Hopefully these sites will help!

Of course, we'll see if I'm still thanking you when I'm 2 days behind on laundry, the kitchen is a mess, and the fam is eating PBJ's twice a day, lol!
