Feed the Forgotten Yard Sale

We had our yard sale for Feed the Forgotten today.

It was really fun and great to see the kids selling their toys and homemade cookies. It was a long day and I'm worn out, but so happy to report that our kids raised over $80 for other kids in Uganda. That's enough to feed 4 families for 20 days or one family for 80 days or one person 571 meals. (If I'm doing my math correctly, which doesn't happen very often)

That gives me goosebumps!

Way to go kids! (and Moms!)

Even the babies helped out.

It was cool and breezy this morning and then warmed up as the day went by.

My little animal lover was able to find a good home for all of her stuffed pets:

A little frog decided he wanted to hop on up and check out what we were selling:

Testing out the merchandise before they sold it.

What a great day. Thank you, Angela, for letting us set up in front of your house.

I just love Kids Lake and the heart behind it. It is so great for me to have a resource for teaching my kids about giving and loving Jesus by loving other people. Thank you Brandi for the work you put into Kids Lake. We really appreciate it and you.

Very cool! Garage Sales are alot of work, I am going to try and do our community one right after my surgery. But ugghhhh I HATE frogs, I am not sure what it is about them but I hate them! I hope all of her animals at her adopin center got good loving homes...

You guys are so precious!!! I love that the kids were not only "working" the event, but selling their own stuff. That truly is "spending ourselves on behalf of the hungry"

I love you guys!

I'm always so impressed with how giving kids can be. It's great what you're teaching your kids Becky! They'll always have a heart for giving. Looks like you guys had a good time too!

Amazing! What a wonderful way to put words into action. You must be so proud of your kids - and hopefully yourself! You're doing a great job!
I love how much we have in common (the police thing!). We should get our families together sometime. Richard and I stay clear of too many police things because they usually aren't family friendly, but I love to hang out with other families that "get it". Where does your hubby work?
I would also love to read your stuff sometime. It's been so encouraging to see that someone else has the same passion.

Way to go Kiddo. One thing this grandma doesn't have to worry about is that her grandkids are being raised in the Lord. I had the boys and Sarah this last week and even Zac knows every word of Matthew West's "Going Through the Motions". (We had to look it up on your blog every morning so they could hear it again) I'll have that song forever in my head. Now you can tell Amy that she was a good example of what that song is about. Love, Mom
