I Want to Give You One of These!

"Dance me, Daddy. Dance me around. Don't let my feet ever touch down. There's nothing better than being your girl, If I am your princess, then you are king of the world."

In this home of princesses and one King Charming, there could not be a more appropriate book for us to own than Dance Me Daddy, by Cindy Morgan. My girls love this book! In fact, that can't wait to read it with Daddy again tonight.

Based on the Point of Grace song, King of the World, it is a book about daddies and daughters.

It begins with a little girl dancing on her daddy's toes and ends with her dancing in his arms on her wedding day.

As I read the book, I thought about how fast we will be there. Before I know it, I'll be watching my little princesses dancing with King Charming at their own weddings. I'm so thankful that my girls are growing up with a loving daddy. He has no idea how much I treasure the way he loves our kids.

With Father's Day on the horizon, if you are anything like me you are desperate for good ideas. Wouldn't it be sweet to have your daughter read this to her daddy? Followed by their own dancing session in the living room?

Here's your chance! Zonderkidz (The Children's Book division of Zondervan Publishing) sent me this book to review and to giveaway to one lucky reader. : ) Just in time for the big day.
Don't you love giveaways? : )

Entering is easy! Just leave me a comment telling me about your plans for Father's Day- big plans? Little plans? No plans? I need some inspiration! : )

On Wednesday, June 10, I'll use Random.org to choose a winner to receive a copy of Dance Me, Daddy that includes a CD with the author reading the story aloud, as well as the song "King of the World" by Point of Grace. I'm sorry, I won't be able to mail outside of the Continental U.S. unless you want to pay for the shipping to wherever else in the world you are. : )

Want more chances to win? You can leave me an additional comment, giving you one extra entry, if you do any of these things before Wednesday:
(4 entries max. per person)

  1. If you are a Follower of my blog or become one before the drawing on Wednesday. (See sidebar)
  2. Write a post inviting your blog readers to enter this drawing.
  3. Browse the Zonderkidz website and let me know what looks interesting to you. (Sorry the link wasn't working earlier. It should now) : )

Even if you don't have daughters, it could be special coming from you to your own daddy

ZonderKidz has been very generous and sent me quite a few titles of children's books to share with you over the next few weeks. Keep watching my blog for your chance to win more great books for your kids.

Yes in deed Becky, how do you find the time to do all of these things..lol..well for father's' day we are going away with my parents to Seaside, OR that we do every year to go sturgeon fishing naturally. lol...I love books like that...when I had my father daughter dance we danced to the song "I Loved Her First" and when I took it to my dad to play it for him for the first time he just cried and cried...so I had to leave it with him for a while before the big dance so he could get it out of his system. Jeramy told me, now that he has a daughter, how much he understands that song. Love you

Well, Becky, I don't have a girl so you don't have to enter me into the contest, BUT I wanted to say what a great idea. :)

I also wanted to tell you that I really, really liked the Princess devotional (answer from Decisions, Decisions about She Speaks). Just remember that whatever you choose to share at She Speaks will be blessed by the Lord.

He's already using you where you are and with what you're doing right now. Your blog touches me. :)

Oh this book and that song sound so perfect for my girls and their Daddy. Thanks for the tip!

For Father's day this year I think we are going to surprise Daddy and take him and the kids out on a pirate ship downtown. I think it'll be a fun family time activity we will all enjoy!

We will be in the middle of moving during Fathers Day! John takes the first load to the new house on June 20th. I will do my best to spoil him and will make a homemade berry pie!! He is definately an adored King in our house!!!

In case you don't remember me, John worked for your Dad in Omak at the Jr. High as his Vice Principal. I last saw/met you at Ben and Angies wedding!

I would love to win this book!!! My girls are still quite young and Father's Day is bitter sweet... My husband is a WONDERFUL daddy!!! But he didn't grow up with his dad and so it's a tough holiday. I'm not always sure how to go about celebrating him without the pain of the past. Anyway, I think we'll go camping over the holiday, and I'm still trying to think of something specific that I can help my 2 year old with...

Sorry, not much help yet, but I'll write again if I come up with something! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I think what you should do is let the girls (and prince charming:-) plan a special day for King Charming. I bet they would come up with some awesome ideas!

My husband LOVES movies, so since I will have our 3rd child earlier in the week via csection, I thought I would pick up a GC for our local movie theatre and suggest that he and and our 3 & 4 y.o. go see a matinee on Father's Day while the baby and I stay home..I doubt that he'll object to the idea..I think there's supposed to be a cute Eddie Murphy movie out then.

This is a great giveaway idea!
Thanks for the opportunity!

Sounds like fun Beck. Thanks for reminding me I need to call Charlie to see what Dad "desparately needs" for Father's Day. I'll probably see if Ben and Angie want to meet us again for a picnic, but if his daughter wants to surprise him by showing up and reading the book and dancing with him, I'm game! Love, Mom

Oh man, I am so bad at planning things like Father's day and birthdays, it's pathetic! I always want to do something so special but my brain draws a blank and I can't come up with anything special or unique! So usually the kids make cards and I buy him clothes or a CD. Lame!

But, I would like to win this book! Maybe it will inspire me!

Okay! I posted about your contest on my blog!

Hey Beck! I don't have a blog or I'd post your giveaway there. I don't know where you guys find the time, but I enoy reading them! :) Since Tim just had back surgery and can't even sit for 2 weeks, it's a slow go around here. But on Father's Day we'll let him sleep in and make him a nice breakfast.... from there we'll see what the day brings and what daddy feels up to doing. Kiya though would LOVE this book. She loves her daddy and loves to dance so it's a perfect fit. Thanks for doing a giveaway! :) Tonia

This is all making me so teary! Yikes! Please enter me (twice--once for this and once for being a follower for some time now!)

I'll be in Chicago visiting my family (including Dad!) over Father's Day, so we had our Fake Father's Day yesterday! It wasn't all that exciting, but A got a couple new shirts and something Punk "built" for him.

Maybe I'll go do some of the other items now...!

I love how your girls love their Dad, it's amazing the bond between father's and daughters and I think it is so important for them, for future relationships! I would love the book and hope I win! :)

I tried posting once before...I guess it was lost in blogland somewhere! My family will start Father's Day by worshipping the Heavenly King. Then the king of our home will be pampered with foods of his choice and a quiet family while he takes his Sunday nap!
I've blogged about your giveaway at www.thebrowneyedpea.blogspot.com.

Thanks,
Tracy

Unfortunately for my husband and my father, Father's Day is likely to be dwarfed by our big move the next day. Although they deserve a fantastic brunch and/or barbecue for supper, we're likely to spend the day packing and then ordering pizza. Maybe we'll celebrate belatedly once we're all moved into our new house!

Great pics of Pat with his girls. A girls relationship with her daddy is so important. The book sounds great. I would love for Dan to read that to his girls.

I visited the Zonderkidz site and I really like the 2:52 book collection. I think those would be great books for our boys!

I forgot to say what we'd be doing for father's day. Danny is not a big fan of mothers or fathers day. So usually there's really nothing planned. I think differently. I like those holidays! I think this year hopefully we will be camping that weekend if Dan can get away and if we can afford it. If not, we may just spend the day golfing.

It looks like such a cute book!
For Father's Day, I think we're baking Daddy a cake (the kids and me) and the kids are going to make a collage including their hand and foot prints (they're 2 and 5 years old).

The Biblical Epic series called Kingdoms looks good... seems it would be a good read aloud to my 5 yr old son or one he could read himself in a few years.
