W.O.W. Kick-Off!

Yippeee!!! It's time to W.O.W. again. Are you in? I HOPE SO!

This will probably be the last W.O.W. challenge of the summer because we have a lot going on in the next few months, so don't miss your opportunity to play along.

If you are new to W.O.W., it stands for Within One Week. You can scan old blog posts to get an idea of what it is all about here, but basically it is slaving away for the chance to win a Starbucks drink from me. Just kidding. : )

It is a chance to pick something that always gets put off, something that never seems to be as high a priority as all of the other projects you have to do, but is something you really want to see done. You set a goal for the week, write a blog post about it (if you have a blog), or leave me a comment about what you are doing here on mine if you don't have a blog. try to get as much done as you can in that week's time, and let us all cheer you on as you do it.

Then on Wednesday, June 24, I'll post how I did on my goal. You will all let me know how you did on yours, and one lucky player will win a $5 Starbuck card so you can put your feet up, sip your Frap, and celebrate all of your hard work. The rest of you will celebrate a great sense of accomplishment.

So, here's what I'm up to this week:

No painting this time. Boo Hoo. I would love to do a home decorating project again, but I have to be good this time and choose a "I'm not going to spend money this time" project.

But! I am thrilled about what I will be working on because each are for great causes and make my heart happy.

I have two goals to get done this week:

1. I'm getting ready for a VERY SPECIAL yard sale. Actually, my kids are doing it, I'm just helping. You may have read about this on other blogs:

"Feed the Forgotten" is an opportunity to feed starving children in Uganda. For just .14, one person can be fed for an entire day.

Remember when my girls did their "Playdate with a Purpose" for Kids Lake and raised money for bowls and spoons for Haitian orphans? Well, this month Kids Lake is asking kids to join in with Feed the Forgotten. My girls decided to take part in our neighborhood's community yard sale on Saturday, June 27, and donate all they earn to "Feed the Forgotten."

They asked friends to join in, so now three or four families are helping out and we plan to sell baked goods and Kool Aid at the yard sale. So that means, Mom better go through all of this:

I keep walking through our laundry room thinking, "Man I need to do something about that pile" but other things seem to take priority. So within one week I will:

- decide what in the pile should be returned to its rightful owner and what can be sold at the yard sale

- Help the girls bake cookies and make signs for our yard sale

And then there is Goal #2 (I guess I'm ambitious)

Our church does some awesome things in India. On July 1st they are having a "Friends of India" dinner and auction. I promised one of my nursing covers for the auction, but the problem is the nursing cover is still just fabric I washed, dried, and never touched. : )

So within one week, one of those two fabrics will be a nursing cover for the auction. Which one is your favorite?

Your Turn:
Here's the official rules:
1. Don't be too ambitious. Choose something you know you can do in one week without stress.

2. DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT IT IS BORING! Being all exciting is not the objective. Getting something you want done, done is the objective. : )

3. Anyone can help that you want to. Go ahead and put Danny to work restaining the playset, Heidi. Just kidding, Danny. Ha Ha.

4. Have fun.

5. Visit the other players and cheer them on.

6. Don't be shy. This is for ANYONE who wants to join in. THAT means you, you silent blog stalker.

Man, I'm being ornery today, aren't I? Hee Hee.

That's it.

Mr. Linky isn't working for me right now, so if you'll just leave me a comment, I'll add your name and a link to your blog. Thanks!

Here's Who is Playing So Far:

Jessica
Mia
Bethany
Andi
Heidi
Katy

Have fun!

I am sorry. I totally want to do this. Infact I have my list on my fridge right now, but it is my over the next two weeks list b/c I fear it is too long for a one week list. And well, my hubby and I are going away for the weekend this weekend...first trip just the two of us in years. So, I will be spending tomorrow and Fri cleaning house, doing laundry and packing... then we are away. BUT, if when I return I am feeling refreshed and ambitious, I will link up on Monday and try to cram my list into three days.

I will be participating although we will be on vacation. But my goal is to catch a sturgeon AND to succesfully unpack all of our stuff from our week long stay, which is actually my main goal because it never seems to get done!

PS Good luck with the Garage Sale, they are a lot of work, but you can make some serious money!

Hey there! I wasn't going to play, but I am in. I can't resist the chance for Starbucks :) Nothing exciting on my list, but I have a few things.
I like the second pattern the best, but both would make beautiful nursing covers.
Here is me cheering you on: Go, Becky, go!!

I really want to do it this time but I'm not sure I can :( I am getting ready for company this weekend and then we are leaving next week for a couple of days. Too bad it wasn't last week (I did a yard sale) or next week (I won't have any kids here!). I will join in on the next one, even if it is after summer. Good luck with the garage sale...tell the girls that I am very proud of them.

Hi Becky! I'm totally in on this weeks challenge! I only have a couple days to complete my project, but I am determined! I love these things. I was looking forward to more of them this summer! By the way, I like the pink floral fabric.

I'm liking the blue/paisley fabric. The other one is a bit too "girl". The blue can definitely be boy...but is a pretty enough pattern to also work for a girl.
