W.O.W. Results- Ready to See My Green Wall?

Phew! I just finished putting the final touches on my Within One Week project. You all are slave drivers! Ha Ha.

Here's Before:

Here's After:

Rite Aid is having a great sale on potting supplies. Everything is 50% off. I got these pots for $3 each and the potting soil was buy one for $3 and get the other bag free. These plants were gifts for Mother's Day and for once I haven't killed them yet! There are now officially three living plants in my house! It's a miracle!

This project was all about overcoming fear in decorating. I've had a commitment issue, lack of confidence thing holding me back. Plus the need to stay on a budget and huge guilt any time I spend any money. But I think the $30 can of paint and the $15 dollars vinyl wall art were well worth the change they made around here.

I've had this paver from Southern Living since the day we moved in with the hope of hanging it on the wall, but it's heavy and I didn't know how to do it. So on the floor it sat for 5 years! It is such a sense of accomplishment to get it up there. I drilled holes in the wall and then used hooks with anchors that were the same size.

I know now where some of my fear issues come from. Mom is visiting this week and has been a great cheerleader until she saw I was going to drill holes in my wall WITHOUT THE HELP OF MY HUSBAND! She chewed her nails watching me and said, "I always make your dad drill the holes in the wall. Then it won't be my fault if it's wrong." She was so relieved and proud of me when it worked.

Of course there was also the fear of standing on a rickety ladder to reach all the way up here:

But I survived!

So, within one week, I took all of your advice and painted that wall and used vinyl wall art. Thank you so much for your cheerleading and inspiration. My wall art is probably a little on the small side for the scale of the wall, but it will do for now. I'm tired!

How did you all do? I can't wait to see!

Leave a link to your results post below or tell us how you did in my comments section. I will be drawing two winners some time this weekend. First prize is a $10 Starbucks (or your place of choice) card and Second Prize is a $5 card. Yeah for us!

I'm having a minor, "too personal to blog about but need to get an annoying little problem fixed" surgery tomorrow that I'm freaking out about. (Sorry if that is TMI) Nothing to worry about, but it will knock me out for a day or two. It will probably take me until Saturday or Sunday to announce the winners. I'm sorry if it takes longer. I know you are all anxious for your caffeine. : )

Please pray for me tomorrow if you think of me. Pray for peace and quick recovery. And that I won't chicken out. : )

Love,

Great job, Becky! I love the color, you did a great job painting it, and I admire your bravery in climbing so high to do it! (Anything that high and I hire it done, I'm so nervous on ladders!!) I also really like the wall art you chose--I don't think it's too small for the wall, I think it takes this really big wall and brings it in closer.

Way to go Becky!!! Your wall looks fabulous! What an inspiration you are! Painting and drilling all on your own, both things I wait for hubby to do. Your wall looks great! You must smile every time you walk in the room now. Will be praying for you on Wed. Hope things go smoothly. Glad your mom is there to help with the kiddos!

I'm a little behind on mine but I think that I will get it done tonight. I was happy when I saw that you weren't doing the drawing today. I am going to finish it all up today and post it.

Great job, Becky! I love it! I love putting color on my walls but it is hard for me to find one I like. Once I do, I want to paint it in every room.

I love the before and after pics of decorating. In my 7th house - so have lost the desire to decorate - enjoy looking at others' works though and yours looks GOOD!

That looks wonderful! And I think the wall art is the perfect size. And all the little touches around the room are beautiful! I know what you mean about being a little skittish with decorating. I feel like my home looks like a bachelor/bachelorette pad because we are still working on our style and such. Money certainly helps with decorating! What great ways you found to liven things up for so little money! Way to go!
Thanks again for hosting another W.O.W ~ always such fun!
Will be thinking and praying for you tomorrow.

Great job Becky! Looks awesome. Great color choice too, it's the same as my living room! :) Your brave, I'm like your mom, I have Dan do the drilling or else I never hear the end of it!! Are you thinking about more painting since that one turned out so great?

That wall looks awesome - the letters were a neat finishing touch. Great job! :-)

My WOW was a total, complete, utter failure. I'm just so overwhelmed by the sheer number of photos I have to sort through. Besides, Thomas has been sick and VERY high maintenance. I just haven't had the time to work on it. AND...I'm queen of procrastination and excuses. So there.

Go ahead and take me out of the running for a gift card. I'd feel terrible if I won with no progress being made!

BTW - good job poking those holes in the wall! And guess what...there's a way to patch holes if they're "wrong"...so no worries for the future!

Becky, I am so humbled by the nomination for attitude of gratitude. I wouldn't say it is my strong suit, but am thankful for an opportunity to share with others the lessons God is teaching me through my role as a mom. I linked back to your site from mine as I accepted the award. I would have listed you as one of my nominees if you hadn't gotten to me first! Thanks for your encouragement.

I love the new room make-over. It looks great! Looks like you've had great participation from other bloggers, too!

I'll be praying for you.
