Time to W.O.W. Again : )

Are you all ready to W.O.W. again? I hope so!

W.O.W stands for Within One Week. Do you have a project on your to-do list that never gets done because everything else is always a priority? If so, then it is time for you to W.O.W. : )

You can click here to see all my W.O.W. posts to get an idea of what we are doing this week. If you need help figuring out the Mr. Linky down below or how to just link to your W.O.W. post and not your whole blog, let me know.

This W.O.W. contest will run from tomorrow, May 13, until Wednesday May 20th. And the major award is getting better every time we play. This time TWO lucky players will be drawn to receive a Starbucks on me to celebrate your hard work. Our winner from the last contest graciously donated her card to the contest. Thanks Rachel! Both cards will be for $5 each UNLESS more than 10 people play along. In that case there will be a grand prize $10 card and a second place $5 prize. Talk your friends into playing along. The more cheerleaders you have for your project, the more fun you'll have.

So here's what I'm up to this week:

I already told you about my new obsession interest in The Nesting Place and how the Nester has inspired me to add some color to these builder beige walls. Remember all of my paint chips? Well, I have a winner!

I promise I didn't choose it for its name, but it is ironic that the color is called "Bird's Nest." : )

I really had no choice in the matter. Every person who walked into our house looked at the wall and said, "That one." I was really surprised by how much that was the clear favorite. Good thing I like it, too. : ) Actually, my friend, Jen, and I also liked "Picnic Basket" but no one else agreed. They said brown wouldn't count as adding color to the wall. So we were vetoed.

So within one week, color is going on that wall. It's a cathedral ceiling, so I hope a fall off the ladder and a trip to the ER are not also a part of this experiment. Hee Hee. I'll need your cheerleading to keep me from chickening out. My sister-in-law, Angie, has some painting tips for me, so I'm calling her later to get her advice.

What About You? What do you want to get done in one week? Write a blog post and tell us about it and then use Mr. Linky. If you don't have a blog, leave me a comment below and we'll cheer you on through my blog. Have fun. Don't work too hard. Pray I stay on the ladder and don't land on my head. And come back next Wednesday to see my new wall and tell us how you did. : )
Love,

Yay! Have fun painting. I can't wait to see what it looks like. All those paint samples scattered were starting to look like a fun, trendy design, though! :) Good luck!

I'd like to play! I've been following your blog and this looks like a great way to motivate me to do things that I've been avoiding for months. I don't have a blog, but I do have a guest room I'd like to whip into shape. I think it's going to take more than 1 week, so I'd like to spend this week organizing my bookshelves & old paperwork.
Have fun painting! The color you picked for your wall looks great. I recommend painter's tape, and lots of it applied carefully (no bubbles). Your living room is gonna look great!

Go for it, Becky! Getting started is the hardest part, but once you have all the paint and stuff out, you'll be motivated to finish the job.

Well, I tried several times to leave my link in Mr. Linky, and it never actually puts my link up. Don't know why, but I will put my link here, and can add my link to Mr. Linky if it starts working later.

Here I go... I have to get this done regardless so thank you for having another carnival.

I highly recommend "frog tape!" All other painter's tapes tend to bleed too easily...not frog tape. Good stuff. :) You should be able to get it at your local hardware store.

Have fun everyone! I think I'm going to sit this one out, but I'll try to join in next time.

Sandra~ I'm so glad you are joining us. We'll cheer you on from here as you work on your guest room. : ) My guest room needs attention, too. All of the projects this time around are inspiring me for future W.O.W. weeks.

Don't feel like you have to, but if you take any pictures that you want to share, you can email them to me and I'll post them for you.

Have fun!

Rachel,

Thanks for the tip about the tape. I already bought the blue stuff. If it doesn't work well, I'll give the frog tape a try next time. I'm nervous, but painted a little bit on the wall tonight just to see the color and I love it!

We'll miss you this time around. Hope you can join in next time!

Love,
Becky

Wait a minute. Since I am coming tomorrow, we run on Saturday, Pinache on Monday, my hair cut on Tues. and you going to the Dr. on Wed; When are you going to paint a wall? Mom

Becky Avella said...

Good Question, Mom. Maybe I should have thought of that before I planned this week, huh?

Or maybe I plan on handing you a paint brush. (Insert evil laugh)

I'll get it done. I'm Super Mom, remember? Ha Ha.

You forgot to mention the fact that I have the flu. : )

Becky, this is so much fun. I am so mad at myself for not taking before and after pics of all I did a few weeks ago. But I have to tell you, WOW is what inspired me to kick myself into gear so thank you!! There were 3 rooms that I gave "make-overs" to: our bedroom, my daughters and my basement. I created a prayer/devotional room and then a game area in the family room. Don't ask me why I didn't take pictures. So frustrating.
I will have to participate in this once my Tuesday study is finished. I still have many transformations to make. :)
Blessings,
Lelia

Go Becky Go! I like the color your picked! It looks Sage-ish. Are you sure you are going to be able to tear yourself away from the leaked Twilight. I didn't know you finally gave in and read it, it is addicting isn' it. I am re-reading all of them now because I really want something to read...lol..can't wait to see the end result, and say hi to your Mom while she is painting! PS are you going to Katy's on the 4th?

What an exciting project Becky! I can't wait to see the end results. Each year we have tackled painting a room in the house. We only have our bathroom and the laundry room left. Have fun painting!

Can't wait to see how that wall looks when you're done! I've been racking my brain to think of something I can get done in a week...

It's already Thursday. What can I do in the next few days? I'll link up soon.

Any chance of getting a Dutch Bros card instead of Starbucks if I win ;-) ??

Becky Avella said...

Daiquiri~ I'd choose a Starbucks card over Dutch Brothers, too. So you can definitely have that instead. I'll make that an option to anyone who wants it. I just picked Starbucks because it is everywhere.

I'm so glad you are playing along. Maybe a photography, buisness goal?

Love you!
Becky

Hey, I'm doin' my best on the enthusiasm thing. I just wanted to join for a chance at $10 for coffee... assuming a couple more people sign up :)

Daiquiri said...

I don't know if I'd go so far as "addict"...more like "passionate enjoyer of coffee who is willing to commit to work at something I don't really want to do on the off chance that I might get some free coffee"

Oh heck.

"addict" probably works ;-)

It's all your fault, you know...Proud of yourself?? :-)

Becky Avella said...

yep VERY proud of myself. No addict likes to be addicted alone. It was a carefully planned plot to get you hooked and it appears to be working. Ha Ha (More evil laugh)
