A Six-Year-Old Princess

We just celebrated Littlest Princess' birthday. She was my "baby" for so long, it blows my mind to think of her as six-years-old and almost done with Kindergarten. She's growing up so quickly. I spent yesterday afternoon on a blanket listening to her read to me. I really do believe the older you get the faster time goes.

To celebrate, I brought these treats to her classroom:

Ice cream cone cupcakes have become our favorite treat around here. You pour the batter into the cone and bake.

The challenge is delivering them to school without a domino effect. That's why I made this carrier.

It took forever to cut out the little circles, so I'm keeping this baby so I won't have to reinvent the wheel next year.

I think her classmates liked them. : )

She felt special anyway.

Later that evening, she got to choose the restaurant of her choice. She's pretty smart and picked Chuck E. Cheese and turned dinner into a party. Her daddy whined and complained about it because he hates their pizza, but as you can see he didn't suffer too much:

Do you think she liked her gifts? We have some very generous friends who helped to make it a very special day.

Our gift to her was a hot pink gymnastics unitard and registration to a three-week long gymnastics class here at our local college this summer. If you remember this post, you'll know it was the perfect gift. She was THRILLED to say the least. It was so fun to see her reaction and joy. She checks the calendar daily to see how close she is to her class starting. I can't wait to see how she does. She has Shawn Johnson's picture taped to her wall and wears her unitard around waiting for June 8th to get here SOON!

It was a great day and made me proud of my princess. I love you, Baby Girl.

So do I Sweetheart, (love you that is). I'm so glad you had such a special birthday. I'm so lucky to be your grandma. Now I'll have to come back AGAIN in June to see you do your gymnastics.

What a beautiful, darling girl. They just grow up too fast. You can tell her that Charlie celebrated at Chuck E. Cheese also. I loved the idea for the cupcakes. I'm going to have to remember that and the box with the holes. What a neat idea. Happy birthday Littlest Princess from aunt Dana.

That is such a good idea for cupcakes! And you're little contraption to hold them is genius lol. Happy Birthday to you sweetie! :) And I'm with Pat, I used to like their pizza, but I am not a fan anymore lol

You used my ice cream cone cupcake idea! When I had made them, I figured they would rise to the top and mound like ice cream to frost, but it turned out you had to REALLY load the frosting on to mound it. I figured that much frosting in a preschool class.....not a good idea! Glad the kids enjoyed them, mine did too!
