I've Been Nester-ized

Oh no, just when I'm figuring out how to balance my time and not spend too much of my life on the computer, I had to go a discover a new blog addiction. Well, it isn't new, just new to me. )

It is a decorating blog called The Nesting Place. Oh boy, do I love this blog! It just recently had over 1 million hits since January, so I'm definitely not the first to be Nester-ized. And I just happened to discover it on the day she was offering free downloads of her new e-book, It Doesn't Have to be Perfect to be Beautiful.

After reading the book, I was so inspired and set free by her philosophy. She talks about breaking all the rules and not being afraid to decorate. That was me- living with builder beige and making no changes around here for the past five years because I was afraid of committing and afraid of doing it "wrong."

Nester inspired me, but now I've got a little problem. Ha Ha:

How do I settle on just ONE color? : ) My daughter helped me grab the samples from Lowe's and with big eyes she said, "Mom, I think you have hundreds!"

So as soon as I'm able to settle on just one color, I am going to paint this wall as my project for the Within One Week contest I'm hosting from May 13-20.

Let's just see how brave I really am! : )

Go check out Nesting Place for yourself. Have fun and make sure you sign up for her newsletter so you can also get a free copy of her e-book. Maybe she will inspire you and you'll want to join in on the next W.O.W. contest with me to accomplish your new inspiration. I hope so!

Enjoy fellow nesters!

Love,

Becky, that's great, but the samples just look like different shades of beige. Where is the purple, red, and orange? tee hee :) (how free have you been set? This is from a mom who painted her house red)

Mom, {may I call you that} I saw colors up there other than beige! I saw shades of blue, gold, green on a large scale like a wall those colors would be vastly different from each other.

oh, wait, you were kidding....

Heart you Everyday Becky! I'm so glad you found me!

Cool. I'll have to go check it out. I love decorating! I'm not very good at it, but I think it's fun to change stuff up all the time. Would be nice to have a house to do it in LOL.

When I saw the pic at first I thought all those squares were part of the decor and I thought it looked kinda fun.. then I realized they were paint samples!!

Good luck with deciding... I am hoping to do WOW this time around!

Good luck deciding! Can't you just leave all the paint chips up on the wall, it looks so pretty!

I love the colors you are thinking about. You know me - I love to paint. I'm all about Earth tone colors which leaves a big range of color!

Don't fear - it's just paint! You can change it if you don't like it!

Here's a tip - Take two pieces of card board the size of a piece of paper and paint them with your final two colors. Tape them on the wall and leave them for a week and then decide.

Good luck - I look forward to seeing what color you picked!

At first I thought the paint chips were some kind of mossaic that you had decided to decorate the wall with...lol then I read your mom's blog and I kinda agree with your mom...lol..but this is coming from a girl who has beige walls in every single room of her house. I am afraid to paint too. I keep saying we need to paint Jeramy's man room a moss green color. One color that I decided goes with EVERYTHING is Sage...I am not only saying that because it is my daughters name but it really does go with almost every color, and would look nice against the piano. But I also like the dark brown colored one above your wedding picture. Are you doing the whole room, one wall? That is where I have a hard time, trying to figure out where to stop the paint color. The funny thing is, Jeramy's dad works for Kelly Moore paint and does it as side work, so I could probably get all the paint I wanted, but I am too chicken! I better go check out the site! Can't wait to see what you decide, maybe it will inspire me to do some painting.
